 Jim
Moore was born in 1949 in
Los Angeles. After graduating high school, he went to work in the
office of an insurance company. Two years later Jim got married, and
two years after that quit his job to join his father in the
entertainment business. The next 8 years were spent as a
professional musician and nightclub entertainer, performing
throughout the U.S. and Canada. During that time, he experienced
divorce and remarriage. In 1978, he surrendered his life to Christ
in a rural Pentecostal church pastored by his uncle. Sensing God’s
call to preach the gospel, Jim ended his career in entertainment to
allow God to equip and prepare him for ministry. He began working
jobs in sales and management, taking his family to church, and
discovering how to be a godly husband, father, and church member.
Approximately three years later in 1981, he was invited to join the
pastoral staff of the 1000-member Assembly of God church his family
and he were attending in Kansas City, Missouri. Jim founded, in
1989, New Life Community Church in Kansas City. He is married
to Debbie and has three children, Michelle, Stephanie, and Alex, and
six grandchildren.
