Convention News Update
Since taking over as General Overseer in
2005, Pastor Paul Paino believed he was to be a bridge to a new
future for CMI. This year he announced that he felt it was time for
him to turn over the day to day operations over to another for the
remainder of his term (through 2014) and asked the Council of
Overseers to select Pastor Ed Gungor for the task.
The Council passed a resolution to do so and a general vote of the
membership approved the Council's decision.
Pastor Ed immediately asked Pastor Paul to
continue working with CMI and suggested we create the new position
of Overseer Emeritus, which allows him to serve CMI as a liaison
between our past and future, and between CMI and other organizations
in the global Body of Christ. Pastor Paul accepted.
Pastor Ed Gungor has already begun working to develop a strategic
plan for 2012, which will be presented to the Council of Overseers
October 20. The approved plan will be communicated to our general
membership in early November. If you have any specific questions you
can reach Ed Gungor at
edgungor@cmifellowship.com. We are hopeful that CMI will
continue to build on the strength of our history, while stretching
in faith to find ways to better establish and support the local
church.
